UU Solidarity Initiative ICE Out! Week of Action
In this time of moral crisis, our faith calls us to live our values through courageous and prophetic action. Join Unitarian Universalists across the country for a national Week of Action against the violent, immoral actions of ICE. This second week will include a 40-hour phone call blitz to Congress, five straight days of virtual action hours led by UU State Action Networks, and the kick-off session of the UU Solidarity Initiative.

📣 Tuesday, February 10th - ICE Out! Action Hour with UUs For Social Justice - Join us to Tell Congress “No More ICE Funding in the DHS Budget!” 11:00am ET • 10:00am CT • 9:00am MT • 8:00am PT
We will continue to drive the message and demands coming out of Minnesota: No on any additional DHS funding until permanent cuts are made to ICE and CBP, and Congress forces reforms that stop the violence. Accountability must be imposed. We will also address the SAVE Act in light of activity in Minnesota, and we will contact Governors and Attorneys General to remind them that the activity of federal agents is not above state law. 📣 Wednesday, February 11th at 3:00ET ICE Out! Action Hour with UU Service Committee to End ICE Funding and Extend TPS for Haiti 3:00 p.m. ET • 2:00 p.m. CT • 1:00 p.m. MT • noon PT
As the temporary funding for DHS nears its end, we will keep the pressure on Congress to make permanent cuts to ICE and CBP funding. And, following a special presentation on Haiti, we will also call on Congress to formally extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti to protect more than 350,000 Haitian community members. Love over Fear! Together We Can Close Dilley! Join UUs across Texas for this important action hour continuing the call to "Libertad para los niños" or "Free the children!" at the Dilley Detention Center. Recent national attention has put pressure on the detention center to release some children and families over the past two weeks. With a measles outbreak reported last week, we must keep up the pressure by calling on state and federal officials to close Dilley now! Register here!
📣 Friday, February 13th - ICE Out! Week of Action with the UU Justice Ministry of North Carolina with special guest Emma’s Revolution! 11:00amET / 10:00CT / 9:00MT / 8:00PT.
Join UU Justice NC this Friday as we close out our National UU Weeks of Action. Together, we will call key members of Congress on the final day before the DHS funding deadline to tell them - No ICE in our communities! No ICE in our budget! 📣 30 Days of Love - ICE Out! Phone Call Blitz to Congress - Monday 2/2 through Friday 2/6.
UUs across the country are creating an unbroken chain of phone calls to key members of Congress every three minutes for 80 consecutive business hours. We have fully filled over 80 hours of calling and are now closed to more captains. Please join us for one of the daily action hours above instead.

The Minnesota UU Social Justice Alliance will lead us in demanding that major U.S. corporations denounce ICE. Last month, we succeeded in pressuring Avelo Airlines to halt all of their deportation flights! The Tennessee UU Community Action Network will host an action hour calling for Justice for Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and the other victims of ICE/CBP violence. Together we will call on Congress to hold the Trump Administration accountable for killing American citizens, smearing their character, and covering up the violent, unjustifiable actions of ICE agents. The Texas UU Justice Ministry will continue to lead us in charge to close Dilley Detention Center in South Texas following their action at the facility last week.
We celebrate the safe return of 5-year old Liam Conejo Ramos, but continue to fight for the children & families calling for Dilley to "Libertad para los ninos" or "Free the children!" in the midst of horrific, inhumane conditions. Register here.

ICE Out! Phone Call Blitz to Congress - extending to next week
You filled up our 40 hour this week, so we are extending it for a second week - Monday 2/9 through Friday 2/13. Join UUs across the country in creating an unbroken chain of phone calls to key members of congress every three minutes for 40-straight business hours.
