Each week of 30 Days of Love, there will be a weekly theme with a menu of do-it-yourself activities in the following categories:

  • Participate: Artist workshops, writings and actions

  • Listen: Music, meditation, lectures, poetry

  • Worship: Worship moments - alone or together - to refuel

January 17 – 23: Living Our Values in the World

Theme: We can all to our little part to change the world.

LISTEN: Art as Activism (or Artivism) with The Butterfly Effect (27 min)

WORSHIP: Sing Along “This Little Light of Mine” (2.5 min)

PARTICIPATE: "Think of a big problem in your town. Now, think of a couple of small ways you might be able to help make a difference. Draw a decision rocket to help you decide what action to take. Ask an adult for help and to print out the example in the link." (10-15 min)

January 24 – 30: Hospitality and Inclusion

Theme: We all deserve to be accepted, included, and loved exactly as we are.

WORSHIP: 5-Minute LovingKindness Kids Meditation w/ Cory Muscara (5 min)

PARTICIPATE: Think of a time when someone was a good friend to you and helped you feel included. What did they do that was so kind? How did it make you feel? Write a letter to them to thank them and send it in the mail. Even if they don't remember, too, they will be happy to know they helped. (10-15 min)

January 31 – February 6: Educating for Liberation

Theme: We can change and grow and help others to do so, as well, with new ideas and information.

WATCH: Teenage activist Marley Dias on the trailblazer who inspired her (2.5 min)

LISTEN: “Under Your Feet” episode from The Past and the Curious podcast (30 min)

WORSHIP: “Malcolm X and the Proposed 8th Principle” by Helen Rose (5.5 min)

PARTICIPATE: Visit with an elder (phone or video call) that you know and ask them who they admire from history that helped in fighting for justice. Draw or write about what you learn and consider sharing this with them once you're done. (30 min - 1 hr)

February 7 – 13: Restoration and Repair

Theme: If we can learn how to repair our own broken relationships, we can grow to repair a broken world

LISTEN: Sing along: “Saying Sorry Song” (2 min)

WORSHIP: “Reflect, Respect, Connect” from Peace Out podcast (13 min)

PARTICIPATE: It's hard to remember all the parts of a good, sincere apology, especially when feeling big feelings like guilt. Make a poster like the one here, decorate it as you like, and hang it up in your house to help remind you. Practice saying 'I'm sorry' in this way with your family through role-plays to help get the hang of it. Adults need practice, too! (5-20 min)
