Creating Hubs of Resilience - Resources from April Gathering
Folks have told us that after Monday’s Gathering, they felt calm, hopeful, and “less terrified of climate change because real people are out here doing something.” (Let us know how you felt here!)
Side With Love Climate Strategist Rachel Myslivy reminded us on Monday that this is what we do together: we face challenging realities, and, with love at the center, bring what we have to the table in the form of both love and logistics.
We heard stories from Dorothy’s very small congregation on one coast to David’s large congregation on the other coast–both creating hubs of resilience in their communities. We got moving and creative with artivist Canedy Knowles.
If you missed us live, you can watch the recording and view the presentation slides.
As we said at The Gathering, we gather in community to spark ideas, make connections, and move forward with justice in mind and love in our hearts. Here are the next steps we invited you into:
Ground yourself. What is 1 thing you will do to tend to your spirit and regulate this week?
Amplify. What 3 people you will ask “What would it mean for our congregation to become a hub of climate resilience?”
Tool to take back: Mapping the Challenging Realities and Possibilities for Community Care and Bonus: Sacred Circles Worksheet
Want a deeper dive? Join us to hear more from David on Wednesday, April 15 for our Green Sanctuary Community Meeting on Rolling out a Mobile Resiliency Hub in Atlanta, Georgia. Don’t miss this conversation to take your resiliency planning to the next level. (If you do miss it, you can watch the recording on our website!)
I invite you to let us know which of these actions (or others!) you are taking this month, and be sure to read our Action Center Weekly Update for specific actions you can take this week. We publish the update every Tuesday on our Action Center.

The strength of our movements has always been found in our ability to come together. May we continue acting in wider and wider networks of solidarity, and we will see you again in May.
